Volcanic rocks, particularly lava, are a source of natural pigments due to the presence of iron and other minerals that can be ground into fine powders. These pigments can range in color from red-brown to black.
Yellow onyx is a naturally occurring stone with a yellow-toned background, often featuring dark veins, and is typically found in regions with volcanic activity. 
Our pigments come from the Campania region, Italy
Pigments are high temperature resistant, can be used for ceramics. 
The sample is palette - covered with Orange vulcanite pigment before firing.
